100% organic Cabernet Franc from Los Guindos, Maipo Valley. Fermented and aged in clay amphora, without the use of any winemaking additives.
Los Guindos, Maipo Valley. Vineyard planted in 1997 and relatively isolated from other plantations, eliminating the risk of contamination by chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
It focuses on giving the maximum autonomy to the field, amplifying the existing life in the soil and subsoil, to have to intervene as little as possible. Only 3,500 to 5,000 Kgs./Ha of yield in the vineyard.
Early manual harvest, approximately one week before the normal for the zone. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, without temperature control. The clusters are destemmed and the berries are gravity-fed to 700l clay amphora, where fermentation takes about 35 days. Then the wine is pressed and returns to the amphora for aging. No addition of sulphites or any other additives.
About 9 months in clay amphora, without temperature control. After decantation by gravity, the wine is bottled without filtering.
Luca Hodgkinson. He was born and raised in Priorat, Catalonia. Master in Bordeaux, has intentionally unlearned much of what he had learned academically.
Responsible for the organic conversion of François Lurton’s vineyards in Chile and Argentina, he currently advises various sincere wine projects in Chile.
